Thorsten Kray and snow load

COMPACTFLAT

At AEROCOMPACT, we do test all of our solar racking solutions for wind and snow loading.

Thorsten Kray – since 1st of January 2021 Head of Research and Standardisation at AEROCOMPACT and responsible for the research and standardization activities of AEROCOMPACT – has dedicated itself to the topic of snow load on the occasion of the weather in the past weeks.

For this purpose, either static verifications are carried out by or full-scale load tests following globally recognized standards such as UL 2703. Our COMPACTFlat S-Alpine system is especially designed for heavy snow loading using Alpine front and end bracktes and connectors. Its design load rating determined in the UL testing corresponds to 4,400 Pascal corresponding to 440 kg/m2 allowing its deployment in many heavy snow load regions all around the world.

As you can see in our video, it stands up to the practical test here in Vorarlberg (Austria).
