COMPACTPITCH XM-B is our metal replacement tile designed for installation under roof hooks. It replaces the valley tile directly beneath the hook, reducing the risk of breakage in that area. It is made of galvanized steel with a zinc-magnesium strip and features self-adhesive polyurethane flexible foam. No machining or cutting is required. CE-marked, with a product warranty.
What is a metal replacement tile like the XM-B used for?
The XM-B replaces the pan tile in the area where the roof hook is installed. This eliminates the need to modify the existing tile at this location and reduces the risk of breakage.
Why is COMPACTPITCH XM-B particularly useful in regions with heavy snowfall?
In areas with heavy snowfall, the roof and roof hooks are subjected to high loads over long periods of time. Since the interlocking tile directly beneath the hook is subject to particular stress, XM-B replaces it with a metal replacement tile—this reduces the risk of tile breakage where the snow load acts on the structure.

No. COMPACTPITCH XM-B is installed under the roof hook in place of the hip tile. This means the tile does not need to be cut or otherwise adjusted to fit the hook. This reduces the amount of work required on the roof covering and, at the same time, prevents a common weak point caused by modified tiles. The current assembly instructions apply for installation.
How does COMPACTPITCH XM-B ensure safe roof hook installation?
