What is COMPACTMETAL TM, the standing seam clamping system, designed for?
For penetration-free PV installation on virtually all types of standing-seam metal roofs. The clamps engage the seam with a form-fit—no opening is created in the roof membrane, and thus no new sealing point is required. Suitable for double standing seam, round seam, and sliding seam roofs; modules can be mounted in both landscape and portrait orientation. CE-marked, with a product warranty.
What module orientations are possible with COMPACTMETAL TM?
Both. In landscape orientation, the modules are clamped directly onto the standing seam clamps, without a second rail level. For portrait orientation, X40 or X50 rails are added as support profiles. The choice depends on the desired module orientation, seam spacing, and module dimensions.
How does the portrait-orientation version work?
About the COMPACTPITCH modular system. The X40 and X50 rails are attached directly to the standing seam clamps using the XPN cross connector bracket and then support the modules in portrait orientation. Thus, the portrait-orientation variant utilizes rails and connector brackets from the COMPACTPITCH modular system.
What types of profiles do the clamps accommodate?
TMDS08 is designed for handcrafted double standing seam roofs, TMM08 for angled standing seam and snap-seam profiles, and TMR08 for rounded seam roofs. For sliding seam roof systems, the two-piece clamps TMRD08, TMK1508, and TMK2008 are available in various sizes. The existing seam profile is always the determining factor, not just the roof designation. If the profile assignment is unclear, a photo of the seam in cross-section can be submitted via the official inquiry form for technical clarification.
Will a clamped fastener hold up over time—even during storms and under snow loads?
Yes. COMPACTMETAL TM is designed to withstand high snow and wind loads and secures the modules to the seam without penetration. Depending on the clamp type, convex and concave preformed fastening screws create an optimal form-fit with the respective seam profile. With direct clamping, the clamp supports the module directly.
What documents do I need for selecting and installing COMPACTMETAL TM?
Use the leaflet for preselection, the intake form for project preparation, and the COMPACTMETAL TM assembly instructions for installation. The available language versions can be found in the download section. For technical clarification, please submit a photo of the seam profile, roof dimensions, and module type via the official inquiry form.
Are there any reference projects for COMPACTMETAL TM?
