Bonding clip

The Bonding Clip ensures conductivity between the base plate and the feet. This process must be repeated once for each foot.

FRICTION COEFFICIENT MEASURING CASE

The aluminum coefficient of friction measuring case with weight block and tension spring scale enables the determination of the coefficient of friction on the flat roof and serves to reliably evaluate the roof surface adhesion.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About COMPACTFLAT S_BASE – Quick-Click Flat Roof System

What is COMPACTFLAT S_BASE, the Quick-Click system for flat roofs?

COMPACTFLAT S_BASE is our quick-click mounting system for PV installations on flat roofs. The basic structure consists of three parts: a stackable base plate, snap-in brackets made of solid aluminum, and the module clamps. The modules are mounted at a 10-degree angle and secured either with stone ballast or anchors. Only one tool is needed for installation. The system has been wind tunnel tested and is CE-marked.

For which flat-roof projects is COMPACTFLAT S_BASE intended?

S_BASE is particularly suited for flat-roof projects with large modules, limited building load-bearing capacity, or complex roof conditions. The base plate distributes point loads across the insulation, while anchored connection points can reduce the required ballast. Uneven roof surfaces and the thermal expansion of larger module arrays are accounted for within the system design.

How many different basic components do I need for various S_BASE projects?

The same base plate either holds ballast or serves as the starting point for single and double anchors. The basic component remains the same; depending on the project, the front bracket, middle bracket, and connector brackets are added, as well as the anchor parts in the case of an anchorage.

What are the advantages of the base plate in day-to-day installation work?

The patent-pending base plate is lightweight, sturdy, and stackable. This simplifies transportation and logistics while also providing a secure surface for ballast or anchored connection points—with good point load distribution on virtually any type of insulation.

How does COMPACTFLAT S_BASE help with logistics and assembly time?

In storage and during transport, because the base plates can be stacked inside one another and the material is delivered compactly on pallets. On the roof, the brackets are snapped into the panels rather than screwed in; a single tool is all that’s needed for the entire S_BASE structure. This saves space, eliminates the need to change tools, and keeps the assembly process straightforward.

When is anchoring a better option than simply adding ballast?

An anchoring system is required when the necessary ballast needs to be reduced or when a steeper roof pitch requires additional stabilization. S_BASE supports single and double anchors. For this purpose, one anchor plate is used per base plate, along with an anchor rail in lengths of 1,352, 1,652, or 2,552 millimeters and a mounting kit with two screw lengths for different rail heights and positions. The specific mounting method is selected based on the roof and the project calculations.

What components make up the S_BASE base system?

The basic system consists of a base plate, a bracket, and a clamp. Depending on the project, a front bracket, a middle bracket, and a connector bracket are added, as well as—for anchoring—an anchor plate, an anchor rail, and the anchor installation kit.

For which modules and module fields is COMPACTFLAT S_BASE designed?

For large PV modules and expansive, contiguous module arrays with no fixed size restrictions on the array. The solid aluminum brackets accommodate thermal expansion and contraction; at the same time, the structure can be adapted to uneven roof surfaces. Module dimensions, roof structure, and securing methods are determined for the specific project

What documents are helpful for selecting a system, planning, and implementation?

Our leaflet is available to help you choose a system; the intake form is for planning; the bid template is for the bidding process; and the assembly instructions are for implementation. In addition, there are instructions for measuring the coefficient of friction. To submit an inquiry, please use the inquiry form or contact office@aerocompact.com.

Why is measuring the coefficient of static friction so helpful?

The static friction coefficient describes how effectively the mounting system’s contact with the existing roof surface prevents it from shifting. This value can be determined directly on the flat roof using the measurement kit. The measured roof surface adhesion then provides a more concrete basis for calculating the required ballast than a mere blanket assumption.

How is equipotential bonding achieved with COMPACTFLAT S_BASE?

The grounding spring provides the conductive connection between the base plate and the feet. The module terminals feature integrated grounding pins. Universal clips and cable tie clips are available for cable routing, and the Optimizer terminal is available for approved power optimizers.
