COMPACTMETAL TS stands for maximum simplified PV mounting on trapezoidal sheet metal roofs. The short rails in 80 mm or 150 mm length are screwed onto the high bead of the trapezoidal sheet without cutting and without pre-drilling. The Click module clamps are mounted directly onto the short rail.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About COMPACTMETAL TS – Trapezoidal Sheet Metal Short-Rail System
What is COMPACTMETAL TS, the short-rail system for trapezoidal sheet metal roofs?
COMPACTMETAL TS is our short-rail system for PV installations on trapezoidal sheet metal roofs. The short rails—80 or 150 millimeters long—are screwed directly onto the high rib, without cutting or pre-drilling. The module clamps snap directly onto the short rail. CE-marked, with a product warranty.
For which types of roofs is COMPACTMETAL TS suitable?
For corrugated metal roofs, typically on commercial and industrial buildings. The basic idea behind this is to make as few changes as possible to the existing roof so that its functions are preserved. TS therefore uses short rails for direct mounting on the high ridge. The profile geometry and sheet thickness are required for project-specific design.
Is pre-drilling required for COMPACTMETAL TS?
No. The short rails are screwed directly onto the raised bead using MSS 6x25 self-tapping sheet metal screws—without producing chips and without pre-drilling.
What are the differences between the TS08 and the TS15?
In the rail length and, consequently, in the number of screws per rail. The TS08 is 80 millimeters long and is the material-efficient standard solution for direct mounting. At 150 millimeters long, the TS15 is the version designed for thinner trapezoidal sheets: It accommodates three thin-sheet screws instead of two, thereby achieving a higher load-bearing capacity per fastener and offering greater installation tolerance.
What is the TSE15 raised short splint designed for?
TSE15 is the 80-millimeter-high short rail. It improves rear ventilation and creates space for installing optimizers. All that’s needed is a suitable bit extension, which AEROTOOL automatically suggests during project planning so that it’s ready on the job site.
For which PV modules and loads is COMPACTMETAL TS designed?
For framed PV modules with a frame height of 30 to 46 millimeters—this is the adjustment range of the cross-system universal click clamp. COMPACTMETAL TS is designed for high wind and snow loads; the project-specific design takes into account, among other things, rail type, number of screws, sheet metal thickness, and site-specific loads, and is planned using AEROTOOL.
When is each COMPACTMETAL-TS variant the best choice?
There are two choices to make. The first concerns the short rail: TS08 for standard applications, TS15 for thinner sheets or if you need more installation tolerance, and TSE15 for rear ventilation and space beneath the modules. The second concerns the orientation: All three are mounted parallel to the roof, meaning they follow the roof pitch. If you want to deviate from this, you’ll need the TS EL height adapter and the PS, PM, or PL tilt adaptors—these raise the modules further and allow for an east-west orientation instead of the standard south-facing, roof-parallel alignment. This is particularly beneficial on very gently sloped or poorly oriented industrial building roofs.
What documents do I need for the selection, planning, and installation of COMPACTMETAL TS?
Use the COMPACTMETAL TS leaflet for preliminary selection, the COMPACTMETAL intake form—which applies to the entire product family—for project preparation, and the assembly instructions for implementation; for projects in the United Kingdom, there is a separate version for TS15. The project-specific design and bill of materials are created using AEROTOOL—which also suggests the appropriate bit extension for TSE15. The official inquiry form is available for technical questions; for the design, information such as the profile designation, sheet metal thickness, module type, and location is required.
How is a TS system grounded and integrated into the lightning protection system?
The universal module clamps feature integrated grounding pins. The WCL8-10 wire clamp is available for integrating the system into an existing lightning protection system. Whether and to what extent the system must be integrated depends on the project-specific lightning protection and equipotential bonding plan.
