Which COMPACTPITCH systems are designed for concrete and clay bricks?
Five, each with different focuses. COMPACTPITCH XM-F is the universal choice: An adjustable cover plate decouples the hook’s position from the tile grid, so that the hook can typically be positioned directly above the rafter. XM-B is not a standalone hook system, but rather a metal replacement tile that replaces the interlocking tile beneath the hook—especially in areas with heavy snow loads. XM-PL is designed for plain-tile roofing and comes with a matching sheet metal replacement tile. XT-R 2.0 is the hinged roof hook with a floating mounting system, designed for uneven roof structures and one-person adjustment. XT35-VLOW addresses special cases: typical Mediterranean tile roofs, flat roof battens, and concrete substrates. If on-site solar mounting brackets are already installed, our rails can be attached over them.
Which PV mounting systems are designed for trapezoidal sheet metal roofs?
For trapezoidal sheet metal roofs, COMPACTMETAL TS and COMPACTMETAL TL are available. COMPACTMETAL TS uses short rails and is designed for modules mounted horizontally. COMPACTMETAL TL spans two high ribs and allows for portrait-oriented mounting. Other factors relevant to the selection process include the profile geometry, rib spacing, and project-specific loads.
Which mounting system is best suited for a pitched roof?
COMPACTMETAL TM. The system is clamped onto the seam instead of penetrating the roofing material—so no new opening is created in the roof, and therefore no additional sealing point is required. The existing seam profile is key: double standing seams, round seams, and sliding seams each require their own clamps. What solution is recommended for sandwich roofs?
COMPACTMETAL TR. Wind loads are absorbed by sandwich fasteners and rails; the patented support concept transfers snow loads directly to the substructure. In this way, the system prevents permanent stress on the panel’s top layer, which can lead to damage and leaks when panels are screwed directly into the substructure. COMPACTMETAL TR has received general building authority approval. For planning purposes, we need the panel type, the structure of the substructure, and the site-specific loads.
Which PV mounting system is suitable for slate and corrugated metal roofs?
COMPACTPITCH XW is intended for use on corrugated metal roofs. For slate roofs, suitability must be verified based on the roof structure and structural requirements. The mounting rail system is height-adjustable and is designed specifically for each project.
What information is needed to select a pitched-roof mounting system?
For the preliminary selection, we need the type of roofing, the roof structure—including rafter spacing—the dimensions and orientation of the modules, as well as the wind and snow loads at the site. For metal roofs, the profile geometry and rib spacing must also be provided; for tile roofs, the tile shape is required.
