FAQ's
Frequently asked questions about PV mounting systems, planning and system selection.
Which PV mounting systems does AEROCOMPACT offer for roofs, ground-mounted installations, and façcdes?
We offer mounting systems for all four application areas, with a dedicated product family for each type of surface: COMPACTFLAT for flat roofs, COMPACTPITCH for tile, slate, and corrugated sheet roofs, COMPACTMETAL for standing seam, trapezoidal sheet metal, and sandwich panel roofs on flat and pitched roofs, COMPACTGROUND for ground-mounted PV systems, and COMPACTWALL for facades. Within each product family, the appropriate solution depends on the surface, module format, and site-specific loads.
What makes AEROCOMPACT mounting systems technically unique?
Three things. First, specialization: our systems are designed for specific roof, facade, and ground types. Second, their design: many of our product families use a small number of coordinated components, simplifying storage, logistics, and installation. Third, technical validation: depending on the system, this includes wind tunnel testing, CE marking, and patented design features.
Which digital planning tools does AEROCOMPACT offer for PV projects?
We offer two tools for different types of projects. With AEROTOOL, you can plan and calculate PV systems on roofs, facades, and open ground. The software combines site data, satellite imagery, shading, wind and snow loads, and structural requirements to generate a 3D system design, CAD plan, a project report designed for submission to building authorities, and a bill of materials. AEROTOOL is available at app.aerotool.com and requires registration. For simplified pitched-roof planning, AERO.GO lets you enter just a few roof parameters and receive verified structural calculations, an installation plan, and material requirements in just one minute — available at aero-go.io.
Who are AEROCOMPACT’s products and services designed for?
Our products and services are primarily designed for installers, project developers, and wholesalers. They have access to mounting systems, digital planning tools, and technical support for the preparation and implementation of their PV projects.
How does AEROTOOL support material planning?
Based on the planned system design, AEROTOOL generates a detailed bill of materials. Together with the CAD plan and project report, it supports project costing, ordering, and installation preparation.
Are AEROCOMPACT mounting systems designed for high wind and snow loads?
Yes. AEROCOMPACT offers suitable systems for projects exposed to high wind and snow loads. The appropriate solution for a specific site is determined based on the application, surface, project geometry, and local load assumptions. The COMPACTFLAT product pages provide information on wind tunnel testing, while AEROTOOL incorporates wind and snow loads into project-specific planning.
How do I find the right mounting system for my PV project?
In three steps. First, the application area — flat roof, pitched roof, open ground, or facade — determines the relevant product category. Second, the roof covering or surface, roof structure, module format, and planned module layout help narrow down the selection. Third, site-specific loads are incorporated into the project design using AEROTOOL.
